Ocean Stripes Collection – Spring/Summer 2019

The Spirit of the Collection

For the past year now, we’ve chosen to work in collections. This is how our team is best able to express itself, to fully develop an entire world that we love to immerse you in—and, we’ll admit, it’s also how we’re best able to channel our inner Mouna!

For this spring-summer collection, which we’ve named Ocean Stripes, we wanted to emphasize natural, spontaneous, and fresh styles.

We wanted this collection to be both fresh and sunny.
It’s for all the girls who love nature, lightness, comfort, and who are always smiling!

"The ocean is nature, strength, and freshness all at once."

To evoke the ocean, we focused heavily on shades of blue, sand, and white—all colors that bring to mind the ocean.

But we also focused on textures, both in the patterns and in the fabrics we selected. We wanted to evoke grains of sand, seaweed, stones, and waves, without forgetting seashells and other wonders of the ocean landscape.

As always, you’ll also find warm colors like reds, corals, and sunny yellows. We just can’t help but work with these warm colors that we love so much!

Stripes add a dynamic touch to this collection. They appear as pleats or cross-over details on the Naia and Océane styles, for example.

When used on fabrics, they add texture and a fun touch to your clothes!

In this collection, you’ll find more fabrics made from natural materials, such as linen, cotton, lyocell, and more.
We’ve made a number of commitments at the start of this year. We’ll have to take the time to tell you all about them.

Sewing Patterns

This collection features 3 new patterns. As always, they are available in print format in sizes 34 through 48 and in PDF format in sizes 34 through 58.

The Océane Dress / Top

Océane is a super-glamorous little summer dress/top! It has a slightly skater-style silhouette, with a crossover front and six pleats under the bust that add lovely volume to the V-neckline. Made from this gorgeous jersey fabric, this dress/top is not only super comfortable but also radiates sunshine.

The Naia Blouse

The Naia blouse is a pleated blouse with a wrap-around front. It has a loose fit, making it comfortable to wear for all body types. The two pleats at the bottom of each sleeve echo the pleats on the front.

This pattern is available with short sleeves for Version A or 3/4-length sleeves for Version B. But feel free to add a simple bias binding to create a third, sleeveless version!

The Victoire Skirt

V for Victory! And for the little slit at the bottom of the skirt. This wrap skirt fastens with visible buttons along the flap, and a small hidden button on the inside ensures a secure fit.

In Version A, Victoire is a short, straight skirt, while in Version B, it becomes a longer, form-fitting pencil skirt.
