A pen that erases itself

In the 2025 Advent calendar, we introduced you to a very handy pen: the air-erase pen.

Mark your notches and pieces while you're sewing, and presto—the ink disappears as if by magic.

Summary

  • An alternative to chalk or a Pilot pen
  • The ink fades within 24 hours
  • For your temporary markings

The ink fades on its own

No more scrubbing, washing, or ironing. The ink fades on its own when exposed to air within a few hours—or sometimes a few days, depending on the temperature and humidity. It’s a real time-saver and gives you peace of mind.

No more hassle with marks that won’t come off or lines that are too thick! The air-erase pen is the solution for clean, temporary markings. No need to iron or wash to remove the marks—the air does the work for you. In just a few hours, your markings will fade away. It’s a real convenience that lets you move through your sewing steps without worrying about cleanup.

Be careful, though—if you mark your lines too early or set your project aside, you might not be able to see anything when it’s time to sew. This can be frustrating, especially on large projects like a coat or a structured dress.

It works on most fabrics

The air-erase pen works very well on most fabrics: cotton, linen, polyester, viscose, etc. It leaves a visible mark without damaging the fibers—perfect for drawing your seam lines, markings, or pleats without worrying about leaving permanent marks.

On light-colored fabrics, the purple ink stands out very well.

But you should exercise a little caution: some highly textured or dark fabrics absorb the ink more quickly, which can make the marking less visible. In that case, it’s best to test a sample first before proceeding.

A very handy tool

In conclusion, the air-erase pen is a super-handy sewing tool for marking your fabric on quick projects.

Easy to use and clean, it helps you sew more efficiently.
