Close the neckline of the Océane dress

Close the neckline of the Océane dress

If you find that Océane’s neckline is too low for your taste, a small, discreet, and invisible seam on the front will allow you to adjust the neckline while preserving the airy, puffy look that gives this dress its charm. We offer two closure options here.

1- Moderate closure

  • Lay your dress flat on a table, with the wrong side facing you. Make sure the front panels are completely flat and free of wrinkles.
  • Pin the area shown in the diagram. Be careful: on the right side, pin only the facing, not the front.
  • Sew this small section by hand or with a sewing machine using a straight stitch set to 3 mm. Again, for the right side panel, sew only along the facing. This seam should not be visible on the front. Ideally, this seam should be sewn by machine. To get a good sense of where to sew, you can start by sewing by hand, then go over the seam again with the machine. Make sure to use very secure backstitches.

2- Reinforced closure (ideal for larger busts)

  • Similarly, we’ll finish the seam and form a diamond shape. Again, be sure to catch only the facing for the right side. To make it easier to follow, we’ve marked the bottom facing with small gray dots.

Finally, using the same principle, you can sew the facing of the right side panel to the front along the seam line marked in blue.

There you go! Your dress now has a neckline that stays in place 😀! It's easy, quick, and convenient!
