The Arya Sweater is a pattern that's both elegant and cozy!
The boat neckline and its pretty sleeves give it an elegant look, and the loose fit makes it comfortable to wear every day.

The Hack: Sewing Your Own Sweater Dress
This hack couldn't be easier—all you have to do is adjust the length of the sweater.
To do this:
- Extend the bottom of the pattern straight down by 25 cm.
- Then measure 1.5 cm inward. This gives you a point.
- Connect this point to the bottom of the sweater pattern, and voilà! You're done!
When you make these adjustments, the finished length from the shoulder point to the bottom of the dress is approximately 80 cm. You can verify this measurement by measuring directly on your pattern.
If you want a longer dress, just change the 25 cm to 35 cm, 45 cm, or even more! It's up to you.
We tried it in the longer version, but we prefer the shorter one—even if it means wearing very opaque tights. But then again, when it comes to sewing, everyone is free to do as they please, and that’s what’s great about it.
Do whatever you like, and above all, be proud of what you're wearing!
Fabric for sewing your sweater dress
At Majam, we have a favorite fabric for sewing sweaters: brushed sweater knit.
We work with a factory in Spain to source this Oeko-Tex-certified fabric. It’s made from recycled cotton fibers. This knit fabric has a micro-brushed finish, which is what makes it so incredibly soft!
