Corozo buttons
For this sewing kit featuring shorts, we've selected buttons made from a unique material: corozo.
Corozo, also known as vegetable ivory, is a natural material derived from the seeds of the ivory palm. It’s prized for its hardness and its appearance, which closely resembles animal ivory—except that it isn’t! Corozo is valued for its positive environmental impact, and on top of that, it’s beautiful—so we love it!
The fabric of the shorts set
As for the fabric, you’ll find this lovely 100% cotton Boho fabric in the Swann Shorts Sewing Kit. It’s Oeko-Tex certified and woven in France, no less!
This cotton has a textured appearance because it is woven in a herringbone weave, which gives the fabric a lot of character.
To sew it, you can use a size 80 all-purpose needle.
