If the viscose is very flowy, you can also use sewing weights. They hold everything in place without creating tension. The key when working with viscose is not to try to control the fabric; simply guide it so it returns to its natural position. By respecting its supple nature, the fabric is very easy to work with.

When sewing, a few adjustments can make all the difference:

• Use a microtex or fine needle (size 70) to avoid the small holes that are sometimes left by a needle that is too thick.
• Never pull on the fabric; let the machine do the work. Viscose can easily lose its shape if handled roughly.
• Finally, be sure to iron the seams. Viscose loves steam (but be gentle!). A good ironing session gives a cleaner, more professional look and a perfect finish.
